Overview
About the Location:
This weathered 1920s palace, located 7 km west of Mandvi, is nestled amidst expansive orchards along a private beach. Originally built as a summer retreat for the rulers of Kutch, the palace’s first floor now serves as the primary residence of the elderly Maharajah of Bhuj. The rooftop offers stunning views, and the rooms, adorned with stuffed wildlife and faded yet grand furniture, provide a glimpse into the past. The sandstone structure features intricate jali work, colored glass, domed bastions, and murals, reflecting the distinct style of the Kutch artisans and their rich cultural heritage.

Yuvraj Shri Vijayaraji passed away in 1948, and a chhatri (decorative tombstone) was erected on the palace grounds in his memory.
